This is a brilliant post as I got this email from SHRM as well this evening. Quite interesting how at 9:07p eastern SHRM decides to send this out to its members. Wow - time to start the debates again? Knowledge Infusion hasn't been writing about the impact of the election on HR and technology, but couldn't resist commenting on this post.

Dear God. You know what this means, right? Some poor intern at SHRM had to compile all this information for SHRM’s Governmental Affairs Department. Then the information had to be discussed at several meetings. Then someone made the key decision to send out a ten-page PDF on the night before the election that lays out the HR platforms for the presidential candidates.
Yeah, Laurence G. O’Neil, those were some great strategic decisions on behalf of your organization.
It’s nice to know that the leading HR association is living up to the reputation that HR is untimely, clunky and irrelevant.
