Please tell me what you did and did not like about the debut show. Also if you experienced any technical difficulties connecting to it.
Moreover, what did you think of Tim Ringo's most startling answer: That US companies are actually accelerating investments in human capital despite the economic slowdow? Is that true at your organization or are budgets being cut or projects being delayed?
I'm not sure this is proper online discussion etiquette, but 50 people have viewed this as of Thursday and not a single person has replied! I'm not looking for Talmudic criticism of the first Radio Show. Just a "I loved it" or "I hated it" would suffice. Extra credit for including any reasons or comments on Tim's point. Thanks.
I loved it. You Rock Bill. Great format, content, interaction. I am looking forward to many more of these.
Great show. I really like how you kept it business focused, but had a little color commentary, not the typical drone of what a webinar can take on. That and you did it all without visuals!!! Short and sweet.
Tim's points were interesting especially how Asia is in this area of business, in front of the US. Especially the contrasts b/n China and Korea(?). Interesting to hear how even regions have different nuances to how they manage their talent pools. Something that every vendor trying to sell into this market and every HR professional needs to be cognizant when they are trying to apply and tweak corporate strategy.
Looking forward to your future shows.
Odd. I left a pretty detailed analysis in response to your questionbut it seemed to be moderated out? Is this an open question or are comments subject as a matter of policy to review?
Thanks.
Yes!!! Very "NPR-esque". I actually I felt like calling in with a question
In fact it would be a nice add if listeners could send in recorded question(s) for answer during the next show.
Thanks, Scott. NPR is more than the model than Don Imus or Howard Stern. I like "Fresh Air" or Diane whatshername. You actually can e-mail written questions, just like those show. There's an e-mail address in the right column of the Radio Show page. Or send them to me at bkutik@earthlink.net. Of course, that requires my getting organized enough to tell you the next guest! Over the next few months, we do have commitments from Paul Sparta, CEO of Plateau; Dave Duffield of Workday; and Naomi Lee Bloom, who needs no corporate affiliation. Hope you'll be listening.
Bill - I enjoyed the show - with the lineup of folks you are getting, this will be a "must listen" .
Tim's comments don't particularly ring true at our company. While we continue to invest in critical human capital improvement efforts, we are not spending as much as 3 years ago.
Thanks, David. I think Tim Ringo was careful to point out that the increased spending he'd seen was up to the time of our conversation. I'm not sure what he would have said had I asked particularly about the financial services sector. And he did suggest checking back six months from now. And we certainly will! Thanks for your faith that we will become a "must listen," which is certainly the intention.
Bill just wanted to tell you that I've been totally enjoying catching up on past radio shows now that I have my new iPhone. Has made my commute productive. I know you prefer the immediate feedback of "live" but I want you to know that these assets will be providing value for a long time to come. Thanks!
Glad you're enjoying them, Meg. And the shows do have an incredibly long tail. The first guest in March, Tim Ringo of IBM, is still getting listeners in July. Guess people do want their media now when they want it. But I thought it was a requirement of employment at KI to listen to them live at broadcast time to boost the Nielsen ratings!?! You can download them to an iPhone, too, huh? Guess I better get a new ribbon for my typewriter.
