Wow...I have been in 4 airports and 5 states over the last 24 hours and there is NO ONE not talking about the price of Oil and gasoline and possible impacts. Do you think the oil/gas prices will have an impact AT ALL on the HR technology space?

Please post your thoughts..Always good to have a group of peers share their thoughts as I am not sure completely how to answer the question

I will share my thoughts in 48 hours or so...

Another infusion of knowledge...

Jason, I think the impacts will be far and wide as the price of oil and gasoline continue to rise. One prediction had it hitting $5 by the end of the Summer. I can imagine managers in the workforce will start to receive call outs with the excuse that "I can't afford to come to work today." CNN Money just ran a story with the title "You're working for gas now." As for impacts on HR Tech, I can see a slow trickle down impact in the not so distant future. New technology spend may see a slight scale back but probably not an out right cut.

I am continuing to hear about cutting down on travel with airfares going up and the desire for more virtual workforce. What role will talent management software play there?

Jason, I've attached a very interesting article from CNN.com about the impact that the gas prices are having on employees daily commute to work.....and how creative some companies HR departments are getting in response to their employees concerns. Many companies are switching to a rotating four day work week. But, as the article notes, Yahooo and Jobing.com certainly raised the bar in terms of creativity.
